The Joy of being His Witness!
Camp Shoshanna Report

Have you ever felt inadequate to share your faith in Yeshua with your Jewish friends or neighbors? Or maybe you passed up an open door to communicate God’s love with someone due to fear of being insensitive? I certainly can relate to the feeling of regretting missed opportunities. I was very excited about the Jewish Evangelism Seminar that Ariel Ministries had invited Sam to teach at their two-week program this year at Camp Shoshannah.

Jewish and Gentile believers gathered together from all over the world (France, Japan, Germany just to name a few) to study the Word of God and to learn how to witness to Jewish people.

Of all the wonderful teaching and information that Sam gave, I think the seminar can be summed up in this one statement, “What does it take to lead a Jewish person to the Lord —Love!”

As the seminar came to a close, I asked some of the participants to give me their impressions and feedback. After Sam’s teaching, one of the participants enthusiastically responded: “I am going to start wearing a Jewish star and when someone asks me why, I will respond as Sam taught, ‘The King of the Jews lives in my heart…I owe a debt of gratitude to the Jewish people, since through them the Scriptures were given, and my Messiah came.’”

From Jackie in Canada, “Sam and Miriam, thank you for witnessing to me 32 years ago and helping me to see that I could still be Jewish and love Jesus as my Messiah and Savior. Since I have been serving the Lord in Jewish ministry these past several years, I did not think that I needed a seminar on Jewish evangelism.  But what a blessing your teaching has been for me personally as I now understand in a deeper way my own unbelieving family as well as other Jewish people that the Lord has put in my path.  I have a renewed desire to share my faith with them. What a blessing! Thank you.”

From Ken in Japan: “It was helpful for me to understand in a fresh way that Jesus is a Jew and that His teaching, as well as the teaching of all the apostles, are from the Old Testament.  I realize anew that Satan hates the Jewish people and his goal is to destroy the Jewish people. I pray we can bring this teaching back to Japan.”

Michael, a Jewish teenager from Canada, said, “Hearing Sam speak has not only helped me develop a heart for my Jewish people, but has also increased my desire to study God’s Word from a Jewish perspective.”

Dennis and Betsy, a couple from Pennsylvania noted
, “For quite some time we have known of the importance of sharing Jesus with Jewish people, but also as Gentiles we have much to learn. Sam presented us with eye-opening information from Scripture and lots of practical advice to equip us to be a better witness of God’s love for His people.”

Sue from California said,
“When I realized that the subject of our evening course was about sharing Jesus with Jewish people I was not particularly interested because I did not have any Jewish friends.  However, as I yielded my heart to the Lord and began to really listen I was surprised at how touched I was by the teaching.  I found the material not only relevant but also very helpful for me.  To my delight I was reminded of at least two people that I have the opportunity to pray for and minister to with the Good News of Messiah. I recently met a Jewish woman who works at a nearby store where I shop, and after this encouraging training, I feel confident to share with her.  Also, one of my husband’s business colleagues is Jewish and we both look forward to sharing our faith with him in a loving way. Thank you for your excellent teaching.”

From Shimon in Canada, “Thank you Sam for your teaching and your testimony.  It is my prayer that your words will help me bear fruit through my future testimony.  I believe that my future fruit will have a taste of your testimony and be greatly appreciated by others.”

Pauline from Canada, “When I attended your lectures on Jewish Evangelism, I was struck by the real relevance of bringing the Word of God to the Jewish people. As a Gentile who is married to a Russian Jew I suddenly realized how much I owe to the Jewish people. I marvel at how I came to faith; a Gentile brought by Jews to the cross of the King of the Jews!

Since I became a believer through the study of God’s Word, my life has changed completely and my prayer life is growing, as well as my love for God and the desire to share my faith is becoming an essential need.

To bring the Word of God to the Jewish people is a privilege for me. Your class provided many useful suggestions and tools to understand the Jewish frame of reference and relate to their culture. But most importantly, what I have learned from your teaching is my attitude that must be one of humility and love toward those I am sharing with.  Thank you so much.”

I hope you are encouraged in your own study and witness. Prayerfully consider acquiring Sam’s Jewish Evangelism Seminar on DVD to help you be more effective in your witness. Y

No Coincidences with God
Sharing Messiah here, there, and in the air!
By Miriam Nadler

We are all called to be His witness no matter where we find ourselves: at home, at work, at the grocery store, or when we are traveling. I think that sharing Messiah in flight is a wonderful way of redeeming the time. As Sam likes to say, “Whoever sits next to me on the plane is ordained by God to hear Good News, even if I have to wake him up.”

But, fortunately Sam did not have to wake up Ken,* who was sitting next to him and was interested in shmoozing. It turned out that Ken, a Jewish man, had recently moved to Charlotte with his family. Sam and Ken discovered that they shared many similarities growing up, even the fact that they both are married to Gentile spouses.  Sam shared his testimony of how he came to faith in Yeshua. In the course of their conversation, Ken shared that his son was asking him if he was Jewish, since his mother is a Gentile. Sam explained,

“According to rabbinical Judaism the mother has to be Jewish, in order for the children to be Jewish. However, according to the Scriptures, if either parent is Jewish then the children are considered Jewish. My sons are Jewish and so are your children according to the Scriptures. Of course, the real issue is by what authority we are making our decisions.”

Sam’s confidence in the Scriptures--not only as the best manual for parenting, but also as the ultimate authority on sin, forgiveness, and atonement in Messiah--greatly intrigued Ken. After the two-hour flight they departed, however Ken accepted Sam’s invitation to visit Hope of Israel Congregation in Charlotte to learn more about his Jewish Messiah. Please remember Ken and his family in prayer. May the seed that was planted in his heart be watered with our prayers and with God’s timing, bear fruit by grace unto eternal life in Yeshua. Name is changed for privacy. Y
