Conference in Kiev / 2

Women with a Hunger for the Word!
by Miriam Nadler |
 |
During this trip to Ukraine I was
privileged to teach the women for a number of sessions while Sam taught
the men. Two Messianic congregations joined together along with some
women from neighboring cities, where we were to meet all day Friday, and
on Sunday. A few of the ladies who were cooking and serving lunch and
dinner early in the week asked if they might have a special study on
Thursday evening, since their cooking would prohibit them from coming to
the weekend sessions. |
|
So on Thursday night we assembled,
at which point I didn’t realize that most of these women had never been
to a Ladies’ Bible study before--they came not knowing what to expect
with ‘women teaching women’. I spoke on “Growing Deeper in the Shalom of
God, ”and I was blessed to have Natalia as my translator. |
 |
|
At first it was difficult to know
how well the material was being received, but Natalia was familiar with
my teaching, and she could even translate my jokes! After the study a
number of the women came up and said, “This is wonderful. The teaching
was very helpful to me.” |
|

Miriam & Natalia lead in joyful singing! |
The ladies responsible for the
cooking had a special prayer request, “Please pray that we can cook all
night so we can come to the teaching tomorrow morning.” So we prayed.
The next morning these same ladies were exuberant: “The Lord heard our
prayers, we were able to prepare the food last night so we will be able
to attend the studies this morning.” |
|
On Friday and Sunday we had an
even larger group including a group of women who had driven all night to
attend. What a blessing to teach these women so hungry for the Word of
God, and to see them receive it with joy! We are looking forward to our
next visit. Thanks for your prayers! “Pocka:” ‘see you later!’Y

At presstime we received this letter. We
thought you would enjoy it!
Shalom! We thank our Lord for His care and concern for us, which was
shown through the Women’s seminar conducted by Miriam and Natalia. It is
difficult to express the joy that the fellowship with our dear sisters
from [WMM] brought to our hearts. This seminar assembled women with
different life and spiritual experiences, but it is possible to say
without exaggeration, that each of us obtained the staggering evidence
of God's love and faithfulness, numerous examples of wise, practical
interpretation of biblical subjects and answers to difficult questions.
The Jewish frame of reference, and the originality of the teaching
really enriched this seminar. God’s word [was like a] breath of fresh
air. We pray that Lord will bless and keep our sisters and their
families, and also that He would provide next seminar for us and we will
have fellowship again soon. With the love in Yeshua, Your sisters from
Kiev. Y |
