I
love special events. They are like benchmarks of intense joy, and a
vivid sign of God’s involvement in our lives, and His special gifts of
encouragement. Faith’s
Bat
Mitzvah was a very special
event for
Hope
of Israel Congregation, and a
cause for joy and celebration, where her Jewish friends and family could
hear the Good News from a Jewish frame of reference. Faith, who is 74
years of age accepted Jesus as her Messiah a little over a year ago. |

When Faith came up to
the
bema
(pulpit) to share her
testimony, and I heard her say, “I am here to testify of God’s eternal
faithfulness and His covenant of peace through my Messiah,” the
Scripture from Isaiah 10:21 came to my mind: “A remnant will return,
the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.” We can reach out to Jewish
people with the love of Messiah with confidence because God promises are
true. Paul reiterates this truth in Romans 11:5 that “there has also
come to be at the
present time a remnant
according to God’s grace.” As Jewish people confess that Yeshua is
the Messiah individually it is a foretaste of the glorious future when
the nation of Israel will look upon the One who was pierced and receive
Him as their Redeemer and King. |
